Southworks Construction LLC is a family-owned business, founded on character and integrity. We specialize in Railroad Construction and Maintenance covering the Southeastern Region. Service is our top priority, and we take great satisfaction in taking care of our customers. We treat each project with the upmost importance no matter how big or small, whether it is installing two cross ties, getting a track back in service or building a 2-mile rail siding, each project is important to us. We specialize in turnkey services from civil site work to track completion. Our employees and their safety are very important as well as the safety of our customers.
History
Learning the meaning of hard work from a young age Justin Roberts, along with his brothers, worked every summer helping their Granddaddy gather tobacco and as he got older, started accompanying his daddy on various job sites from residential housing to commercial projects. It was at the age of 15 years old when Justin met a man named Wayne Alexander, who was the President of R.W Alexander Contracting. Mr. Alexander established this company in 1972, and with this new relationship, set his life on a different course. After graduation, he became a full-time employee for R.W Alexander Contracting.
He started out working on the track gangs swinging a hammer, and later, under the guidance of Mr. Alexander, learned the take-off and plan reading process. In early 2006 and after discussions with Mr. Alexander, Justin decided to start his own company and by the end of that year Southworks Construction was born.
Starting his own company as well as being a newly wed in the same year money was tight, his first equipment trailer was a 1995 10 ton Eager Beaver that him and his new wife bought off an auction in Tampa Florida and the first dump truck that he owned was a 1986 Ford F-700 Single Axle that he bought on installment plans from his uncle. After a lot of hard work and determination the business grew and in 2013 Mr. Alexander retired, selling his company to Southworks Construction and with that helping the company grow to what it is today.
